Dayton recorded the first seven points of the second period, before another Kent trey brought the score to 22-18 in favor of the Flyers. Three free throws from Kent and two field goals from UD put the score at 25-21 at the half.

Scaife hit three consecutive shots from behind the arc early in the second half, giving the Flyers a 9-0 run and a 37-24 lead. SLU fought its way back, including a spurt of seven straight Harbison points, to just a five-point deficit at the end of the third, 46-41.
