THE BASICS
• Saint Louis split a pair of games on its first day at the Spring Games, defeating Valparaiso 3-2 in nine innings and falling 8-0 to Penn in six innings.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Valparaiso broke the ice with a run in the top of the sixth.
• Saint Louis answered in the bottom of the inning with
Allie Herron's two-out RBI single.
• Both teams plated a run in the eighth.
Aubrey Hacke's single brought home the tying run for SLU.
• After keeping the Crusaders off the board in the top of the ninth, the Billikens won it on
Sadie Wise's RBI single.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES

Kaylea Chappelle went the distance in the circle. She struck out eight and allowed only one earned run, five hits and three walks.
• Wise had two hits.

Kat Lane,
Gabbie Kowalik and
Kylie Hess had a single apiece.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Penn scored two runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and two in the sixth.

• Wise singled twice, and Lane singled.
