•
Lyndsey Heckel's header off a corner kick in the third minute of the second overtime lifted Saint Louis to a 2-1 victory over Rhode Island Saturday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 Conference Championship quarterfinal game at Hermann Stadium.
•The third-seeded Billikens (10-8-1) advance to the tournament semifinals to face the winner of Sunday's quarterfinal matchup between No. 2 Dayton and No. 7 Richmond. The semifinals (Friday, Nov. 5) and final (Sunday, Nov. 7) will be played on the campus of the highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals.
•Heckel took a perfectly flighted ball from
Hannah Friedrich and headed it off the near post and in for her fourth goal of the season. The assist was Friedrich's team-leading fifth of the year.
•Trailing 1-0 in the 86th minute, Saint Louis pulled even on
Brionna Halverson's first goal of the season.
•Rhode Island, the tournament's No. 6 seed, finished the season 6-9-2.

•The Billikens and Rams played extra time for a second consecutive week. Rhode Island claimed a 1-0 overtime win in the regular-season finale Oct. 24.
•SLU's victory Saturday marked the third time the Bills have posted an A-10 Championship win over an opponent to whom they lost in the regular season.
•SLU won a conference tournament game in overtime for the first time in program history.
•Saint Louis extended its A-10 tournament winning streak to nine games. The Bills are 15-5-1 all-time in the A-10 Championship.
