Gabbie Kowalik had three hits and three RBI to lead Saint Louis in the Billikens' 5-4 season-opening loss at Bradley (1-2) Monday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Louis took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Sadie Wise singled with one out, went to third on Kowalik's double and scored on
Aubrey Hacke's sacrifice fly.
• The Billikens made it 3-0 in the third on Kowalik's home run that followed another Wise single.
• Bradley answered with two runs in the bottom of the third.
• In the fifth,
Kat Lane led off with an infield single and stole second. One out later, Kowalik delivered her second double and third RBI of the day.
• Bradley erupted for three 2-out runs in its half of the fifth.
• The Billikens put the tying run aboard in the sixth and seventh but could not push it across.
