Sahuleka’s Hat Trick Leads Billikens Past Lindenwood

Demi Sahuleka recorded a hat trick in her first game as a Billiken, leading Saint Louis to a season-opening 5-0 victory over Lindenwood Tuesday at SportPort International.

The Billikens scored five goals in a game for the first time since August 30, 2017, against LIU Brooklyn.

Sahuleka posted the first three goals of the contest, collecting one in each of the first three quarters. Emily Wastell provided the assist on the first goal (9:53) and Grace Golembiewski had the helper on the second (27:11). Sahuleka's third goal came on a penalty stroke (44:13).

Freshman Jenna Klaers put the Billikens up 4-0 early in the fourth quarter, tallying her first collegiate goal with an assist from Cameron Tucker (48:39).

Jordan BeSore posted the fifth goal of the day as time was winding down, off a feed from Mica Diaz (59:33).

Golembiewski recorded nine shots, with five on goal. Lauren Pendergast put three shots on goal, while Klaers and Wastell had two each.

The Billikens return to action for a two-game weekend series at SportPort International with Bellarmine, beginning Saturday at noon.
