THE BASICS
• Three Billikens recorded double-doubles, but Saint Louis fell 3-1 at No. 24 Marquette Thursday afternoon at Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee, Wis.
• Kennedy Cordia became the fourth Billiken to reach the 3,000-assist milestone, grabbing a match-best 39.
• With 18 kills in the contest, Maya Taylor moved into ninth all-time at SLU with 1,282 in her career.
• Saint Louis moved to 5-5 on the season, while Marquette improved to 7-2.
FIRST SET
• Juliana Phillips recorded six early kills for Saint Louis, giving the Billikens a 13-10 advantage.
• Marquette took its first lead since the first point of the game at 15-14.
• Taylor brought the Billikens back within one at 19-18 with her seventh kill of the frame.
• SLU fought off two set points, but the Golden Eagles came out on top 27-25.
SECOND SET
• Saint Louis took control of the set early, grabbing leads of 11-5 and 14-8.
• After sneaking back within one at 19-18, Marquette was able to tie the game at 20-20.
• Maya Taylor then posted her sixth and seventh kills of the game, putting SLU up 23-21, and the Billikens were able to close out the set 25-22.
THIRD SET
• Marquette used a 9-0 run in the set to pull ahead 22-10.
• SLU battled back with a 6-0 run of its own to get back within four at 23-19.
• The Golden Eagles were able to pull out two more points and take the third set 25-20.
FOURTH SET
• The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 10-7 lead, but SLU climbed its way back, tying the score with a Jillian Mattingly kill at 13-13.
• MU then used a 6-1 run to go up 20-14.
• SLU fell in the fourth set 25-18.
NOTABLE
• Taylor added 17 digs to her match-high 18 kills, giving her a second double-double on the season.
• Cordia finished with 39 assists and 15 digs for her sixth double-double this year and third in the last four matches.
• Emily Henken picked up the Billikens' third double-double, tallying 11 kills and 14 digs, along with five blocks and one service ace.
• Phillips recorded a season-best 14 kills with a .355 hitting percentage, while also adding five digs and one block.
• Emily Imo paced the Billikens with 19 digs, and Carlie Rodgers picked up 10.
