THE BASICS
• Alyssa Chavez was 3-for-4 and drove in four runs in Saint Louis' 8-5 loss to DePaul Sunday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• DePaul grabbed a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
• Saint Louis answered with two runs in the bottom half when Chavez blasted a two-out, two-run home run.
• The Billikens tied it in the third on Chavez's RBI double, again with two away.
• SLU went on top in the fourth on Maria Connell's leadoff homer.
• The teams traded single runs in the fifth. After DePaul pulled even in its half, Chavez recorded her fourth RBI with a single to make it 5-4 Billikens.
• The Blue Demons regained the lead with two runs in the sixth and added two insurance tallies in the seventh.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Kat Lane was 3-for-4.
• Allie Herron was 2-for-3.

The Billikens are in Carbondale, Ill., to compete in Southern Illinois' Saluki Invitational March 5-7. SLU plays Creighton, Northern Kentucky (twice), Illinois-Chicago and Southern Illinois.
