THE BASICS
• Saint Louis split two games on day two of the Billiken Spring Tournament Saturday, defeating Loyola Chicago 4-1 and falling to Western Illinois 5-4.
• SLU is now 4-8 on the season.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Louis took a 2-0 lead with a two-out rally in the bottom of the first inning. Alyssa Chavez and Kayla Swiderski produced an RBI double and an RBI single, respectively.
• Loyola Chicago scored its only run, an unearned tally, in the third.
• The Billikens responded quickly with two runs in their half of the third on Gabbie Kowalik's two-run home run, her fourth of the season.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Aubrey Hacke went the distance in the circle to pick up her third win. Hacke scattered six hits, walked only one and struck out two.
• Kowalik added a single for a two-hit game.
• Kristi Stevenson recorded a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Western Illinois plated single runs in the first and second.
• Kelsey Etling got Saint Louis on the board in the second with an RBI single.
• The Billikens took a 4-2 lead in the third. Kowalik doubled in a run and scored on the same play when the WIU right fielder misplayed the ball, and a third run crossed the plate on Maria Connell's RBI single.
• Western Illinois scored three times in the sixth.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Sadie Wise tripled and singled.
• Chavez doubled and singled.
• Kat Lane picked up two singles.
• Swiderski and Stevenson had a single apiece.

Saint Louis concludes the Billiken Spring Tournament Sunday with a 1 p.m. game vs. Loyola Chicago.
