RECAP
Saint Louis fell 3-2 in overtime against Appalachian State Monday morning in Boone, N.C.
The Billikens moved to 3-4 on the season, while App State improved to 2-2.
Demi Sahuleka collected the first goal of the game in the second quarter. She netted her sixth tally of the season at 20:40, off a feed from Lauren Pendergast. The helper was Pendergast's team-leading fourth on the year.
Emily Wastell increased the Billiken lead to 2-0 on a penalty stroke at 31:46. The goal marked the fifth of the season for the junior.
App State found the scoring column with just seconds left in the third quarter. Grace Ball's goal at 44:48 brought the score to 2-1 in favor of the Billikens.
The Mountaineers tied the game at 51:24, and that score held through the end of regulation.
Meghan Smart's goal just 47 seconds into overtime led App State to the victory.
Kendyl Underwood fought off 25 shots from the Mountaineers, saving 11 of their shots on goal.
The Billikens will return to SportPort International Sunday, March 21 for an Atlantic 10 contest against VCU.
