THE BASICS
• 
Gabbie Kowalik had two hits and two RBI, and 
Alyssa Chavez drove in a run, but Saint Louis was edged 4-3 by Iowa State Sunday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
• SLU slipped to 5-12, while Iowa State improved to 22-5.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Louis took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Kowalik led off with a single, stole second and scored on Chavez's single.
• Iowa State responded with three runs in the top of the third.
• The Cyclones plated what proved to be the winning run in the fifth.
• The Billikens made it a one-run game with two tallies in their half of the fifth. 
Kat Lane drew a leadoff walk, 
Sadie Wise singled, and 
Kayla Swiderski walked to load the bases. Kowalik followed with a two-run single.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Wise added a single for a two-hit game.
• 
Kaili Hanner allowed just one run and three hits in three innings of relief.
