THE BASICS
• Kat Lane had three hits, including a triple and a double, and two RBI for Saint Louis Saturday on day two of Southern Illinois' Saluki Invitational.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lane tripled to lead off the game and scored on Alyssa Chavez's fielder's choice.
• The Billikens made it 4-0 in the second on Lane's two-run double and Sadie Wise's sacrifice fly.
• Northern Kentucky plated a run in its half of the second inning before taking a 5-4 lead with a four-run third.
• The Norse added what proved to be the winning run in the fourth.
• The Billikens drew to within a run on Kayla Swiderski's sixth-inning sacrifice fly.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Chavez doubled, while Maria Connell, Kristi Stevenson, Allie Herron and Tabby Cacheris collected a single apiece.
• Kaili Hanner allowed just one unearned run and two hits while striking out three in three innings of relief.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Louis struck first with a run in the top of the second inning on Stevenson's two-out single.
• UIC answered with two tallies in its half of the second.
• The Billikens tied it in the third on Wise's RBI double.
• In the eighth, Wise scored the go-ahead run on an error.
• UIC won it with two runs in the bottom of the eighth.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Wise added a single for a two-hit game.
• Swiderski doubled, and Lane, Chavez and Aubrey Hacke delivered a single apiece.
• Hacke went the distance in the circle. She allowed only two earned runs and six hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter.

The Billikens conclude play in the Saluki Invitational Sunday, facing Northern Kentucky at 2:30 p.m. and Southern Illinois at 4:45 p.m.
