•Saint Louis scored twice in the bottom of the fifth, and Billiken pitchers stranded eight Southern Illinois baserunners over the final three innings in SLU's 3-2 victory over the Salukis Thursday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.

Kelsey Etling hit her fifth home run of the season for the Billikens, who extended their winning streak to five games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Southern Illinois struck first with an unearned run in the second inning.
•Etling's homer in the bottom of the inning tied it 1-1.
•The Salukis regained the lead with a run in the fifth but left the bases loaded.
•The Billikens answered with two tallies in their half of the fifth.
Kat Lane ignited the rally with a two-out single,
Sadie Wise singled, and
Gabbie Kowalik and
Alyssa Chavez produced RBI singles.
•SIU stranded two runners in the sixth. The Salukis loaded the bases with nobody out in the seventh, but starting pitcher
Chloe Wendling re-entered and shut the door to pick up her second save of the season.

•Wise and Chavez had two hits apiece.

Kristi Stevenson collected a single.
•Wendling tossed the first two innings. She allowed no earned runs over three total innings.

Aubrey Hacke pitched two scoreless innings, and
Calli Sutcliffe turned in a scoreless frame.
