Billikens Outshoot Lock Haven but Fall Short

RECAP
Saint Louis out-shot Lock Haven 18-10 and held a 12-3 edge in penalty corners, but the Bald Eagles slipped past the Billikens 6-2 in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Friday night at SportPort International in Maryland Heights, Mo.

The Billikens fell to 0-8 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, while Lock Haven moved to 2-4, 1-1.

Lock Haven held a 2-0 lead after one period of play, but Josefina Perez's second goal of the season at 19:38 brought the Billikens back within one.

Following LHU's third goal of the contest at 24:31, Demi Sahuleka found the back of the cage for the first time this season, off an assist from Lauren Pendergast (27:14).

The Bald Eagles tallied the last three scores in the match and won the contest 6-2.

Freshman Lotte Teunissen posted a game-high five shots, while Grace Golembiewski fired all four of hers on goal.

The Billikens return to SportPort International on Sunday, Sept. 26, for a match with Bellarmine at 3 p.m.
