Five Billikens recorded points against Bellarmine, leading Saint Louis to a 3-2 victory over the Knights Sunday afternoon at SportPort International in Maryland Heights, Mo.
The Billikens improved to 1-8 on the season, while Bellarmine fell to 1-8.
Emily Wastell put SLU on the board first with her second goal of the season at 17:37, scoring on a tough angle from the left side of the cage. Josefina Perez picked up the assist, her fifth point of the season.
The game was tied for just 16 seconds, following a Bellarmine goal at 22:10. Lotte Teunissen tallied her first collegiate goal at 22:26 on a one-timer from Demi Sahuleka.
Bellarmine tallied the first goal of the second half at 38:41.
With just 55 seconds remaining in the third quarter, Lauren Pendergast posted her first goal of the season and gave the Billikens a 3-2 lead. Sahuleka picked up her second assist of the day on the tally.
SLU then fought off a late push from the Knights, including two cards and a corner in the closing seconds, to earn its first win of the season.
The Billikens out-shot Bellarmine 18-10. It's the second straight game SLU has had 18 shots.
Pendergast had five shots, with all of them directed on goal, while Teunissen had four shots, three on goal.
The Billikens will visit Lindenwood on Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 7:15 p.m. for a mid-week contest.
