MATCH DETAILS
• Saint Louis hit for a season-best .310 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep over Southern Illinois Tuesday night at Davies Gym in Carbondale, Ill.
• SLU increased its winning streak to three and improved to 4-3 on the season, while the Salukis fell to 3-4.
• The Billikens hit for a .417 hitting percentage and collected 17 kills in a convincing 25-17 set one victory. SLU took control after a tie score at 8-8, including a seven-point stretch that saw four Emily Henken kills to give SLU a 19-12 advantage.Â
• SLU held a six-point lead at 13-7, early in the second set, but Southern Illinois fought back to tie things at 19-19 and eventually took the lead at 24-23. The Billikens bounced back and won the set by recording four of the final points, including a Henken kill and service ace to end the frame.
• Set three was back-and-fourth early, but at 15-14, the Billikens used a 4-0 run to take a five-point advantage and pull away from the Salukis. Sara Daniels ended the match with her sixth kill, giving SLU a 25-19 set win.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Henken contributed in all categories and neared a double-double, recording a match-high 10 kills, along with nine digs, four service aces and one block.
• Mattingly hit for a .750 hitting percentage, tallying seven kills, two service aces and five blocks.
• Rookie Mak Hill had seven kills, with a .400 hitting percentage.
• Delaney Rice collected six blocks, to go along with her seven kills.
• Abby Lynn posted her third straight double-double, with 16 assists and 10 digs.
