GAME DETAILS
•
Sophia Stram poked in a loose ball in the 70th minute to put Saint Louis in front, and the 10th-ranked Billikens inched closer to another Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season title with a 2-1 victory over Dayton Sunday afternoon at Baujan Field in Dayton.
•With two games remaining, SLU (15-1, 8-0 A-10) holds a four-point lead over second-place VCU. The Billikens host the Rams Thursday at 7 p.m., and a win or tie would clinch a fourth regular-season crown in five seasons for Saint Louis.
•The victory extended SLU's winning streak to 13 games, the longest current streak in NCAA Division I women's soccer and second-longest streak (14) in program history.
•The Billikens also stretched their winning streak vs. Dayton to 10 games. The Flyers (12-3-1, 6-2 A-10) fell to third place in the league.
•In addition, Saint Louis set program records for assists (49) and points (151) in a season and tied a school record with its ninth road victory of the year. The Bills have 51 goals, just one shy of equaling the school record.
•Dayton scored in the fifth minute, but SLU tallied an equalizer in the 42nd minute when
Jess Preusser took a cross from
Hannah Sawyer and buried her second goal of the season.
Anna Walsh also recorded an assist on the play.
•Stram's game-winner, her third goal of 2022, was scored following a scramble on a Saint Louis corner kick. Walsh assisted on that play as well, giving her three consecutive games with two assists and lifting her league-leading total to nine.

•In addition to owning the longest current winning streak in the nation, Saint Louis leads Division I women's soccer in wins (15) and winning percentage (.938).
•The Billikens' 15-1 record matches the 2020 team for the best record through 16 games in program history.

Anna Walsh now has 19 career assists, tying for seventh place on SLU's all-time list, and six career game-winning assists, tying for eighth place in program history.
•Sawyer's assist was her second of the season.

Jess Preusser's goal with assists from Sawyer and Walsh was a new scoring combination for SLU. The Billikens now have 37 different player combos on their 42 assisted goals this season.
•The Bills earned advantages of 15-6 in total shots, 7-3 in shots on goal and 5-2 in corner kicks.
