• Saint Louis fell 22-8 to Bowling Green in the season opener Friday evening at Hoover Metropolitan Complex in Hoover, Ala.
• Cameron Swanger picked up two hits and three RBIs in his Billiken debut.
SCORING
• Bowling Green scored four times in the top of the second inning, including a two-RBI single by Jack Krause.
• The Falcons pushed across eight runs in the top of the fourth inning, each on a two-run singles. Only four of the runs were earned.
• SLU cut Bowling Green's lead in half with a six-run fifth inning. Swanger and Matt Happ posted RBI doubles in the inning.
• Nathan Rose's two-RBI triple capped a four-run sixth frame for Bowling Green.
• The Falcons added three more runs in the seventh inning.
• A Swanger single, followed by an error, turned into two runs scoring for the Billikens in their half of the seventh.
• Tyler Ross hit a three-run home run to left field for the Falcons in the top of the eighth.
