THE BASICS
•Saint Louis battled back from an early deficit to make a game of it, but the Billikens fell 8-5 to Ole Miss Friday afternoon on day one of the Ole Miss Classic.
•In SLU's first game of the day, Samford registered a 6-0 win.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Samford scored single runs in the second and third innings, two runs in the fourth, and single tallies in the fifth and seventh.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Sadie Wise clubbed her sixth career triple, tying for ninth place on SLU's career list.
•Kristi Stevenson and Cami Newbanks collected a single and a walk apiece.
•Gabbie Kowalik and Allie Herron had a single apiece.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Ole Miss built a 7-0 lead by scoring four times in the first inning and adding three runs in the second.
•Saint Louis got on the board in the fourth on Wise's second home run of the season, a two-run shot.
•The Rebels increased their lead to 8-2 with a run in the fifth.
•The Billikens answered by plating three runs in the sixth. Kayla Swiderski drove in the first run with a double, and Kelsey Etling delivered a two-out, two-run single.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Swiderski added a single for a two-hit game.
•Kowalik and Natalie Sullivan had a double apiece.
•Kendall Johnson and Taylor Hochman each singled.
