THE BASICS
•Chloe Wendling and Taylor Hochman combined to allow just one run and Kristi Stevenson had five hits in Saint Louis' 3-0, 6-1 sweep of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader at St. Bonaventure Saturday afternoon.
•The sweep vaulted the Billikens (19-21, 11-5 A-10) into second place in the A-10.
•St. Bonaventure fell to 7-34, 1-19.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Jocelyn Abbott's RBI infield single in the fourth inning gave Saint Louis a 1-0 lead.
•In the fifth, Gabbie Kowalik doubled the lead with a sacrifice fly, and another run scored on a wild pitch.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Wendling collected her 13th victory and league-leading fifth shutout of the season. She scattered five hits, struck out four and walked only one, and she worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth inning.
•Stevenson had three hits.
•Abbott added another single for a two-hit game.
•Allie Herron singled.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens struck right away, plating two runs in the first inning. The first crossed on Herron's fielder's choice, and the second scored on an error.
•SLU tallied four times in the second. Abbott drove in the first run with an infield single, Stevenson smacked an RBI double, and Kowalik and Sadie Wise followed with RBI singles.
•St. Bonaventure scored its only run of the day on a fourth-inning solo home run.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman, who posted her sixth win of the year, surrendered just two singles besides the home run and struck out five.
•Wise enjoyed a 3-for-4 outing at the plate.
•Stevenson also notched a single for a two-hit game.
•Jane Kaniecki recorded a double.
•Natalie Sullivan singled.
 
UP NEXT
The Billikens and Bonnies conclude the series Sunday with a single game starting at 11 a.m. Central. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
