THE BASICS
•Sadie Wise had four hits and Jane Kaniecki drove in two runs to lead Saint Louis in a 3-1, 6-3 doubleheader loss to George Washington Saturday afternoon at GW Softball Field.
•The Billikens slipped to 20-24 overall and 12-7 in the Atlantic 10 Conference. George Washington, which clinched the A-10 regular-season title with its game-two victory, improved to 30-12, 18-2.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•George Washington grabbed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
•Saint Louis scored its only run in the fourth on Kaniecki's two-out RBI single.
•GW added an insurance run in the sixth.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Wise and Kristi Stevenson each had a double.
•Natalie Sullivan registered a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Colonials got on the board first with a run in the third inning.
•The Billikens tied it in the fifth on Stevenson's RBI double.
•GW answered with two runs in its half of the fifth to take a 3-1 lead.
•SLU pulled even again in the seventh. An RBI single by Wise plated the first run, and Kaniecki delivered a sacrifice fly to make it a 3-3 game.
•A three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh gave George Washington the victory.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Wise was 3-for-4.
•Stevenson and Allie Herron had two hits apiece.
•Taylor Hochman rang up a career-high nine strikeouts.
•Kaniecki, Sullivan and Gabbie Kowalik singled.
