SUMMARY
• Saint Louis split its pair of Saturday matches on the final day of the Billiken Classic at Chaifetz Pavilion.
• The Billikens jumped out to a 2-0 lead in their first match of the day against Kansas City, but the Roos fought back to force a fifth set. After trailing 15-14 in the fifth frame, SLU rattled off three straight points for the victory.
• SLU again went ahead 2-0 Saturday night against Iowa State, but the Cyclones took the final three games. The Billikens won set two 39-37, marking the highest point total in a set by the Billikens since rally scoring began in 2001.
• Sophomore Kate Aupperle became the 19th Billiken to join the 1,000-assist club.
• Emily Henken and Jillinan Mattingly were named to the All-Tournament team. They joined Maya Duckworth (MVP, ISU), Solei Thomas (ISU), Morgan Sprague (MSU) and Odyssey Warren (KC).
• SLU wrapped up nonconference play with an 8-4 record. Atlantic 10 Conference matches begin next weekend, with the Billikens heading to Rhode Island.
MATCH ONE NOTABLES
• Henken led the Billikens with the sixth double-double of her career, finishing with 18 kills and a career-best 23 digs.
• Kayla Richardson notched a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs.
• Mattingly hit for a .560 attack percentage, with 15 kills on 25 attempts.
MATCH TWO NOTABLES
• With her third assist in the first set, Aupperle recorded career assist No. 1,000. She finished with a double-double of 25 assists and 10 digs.
• Henken again led the team with 18 kills, along with eight digs and three service aces.
• Carlie Rodgers finished with a match-best 19 digs, along with eight assists and three service aces.
