MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Sierra Larson scored her third goal of the season, but La Salle erupted for four goals in the third quarter to register a 6-1 victory over Saint Louis Friday in Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey action at SportPort International.
The Billikens fall to 1-11 overall and 0-5 in the A-10. La Salle improves to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the league.
After La Salle opened the scoring with a goal in the sixth minute, SLU responded when Sierra Larson scored the equalizer at the 10:50 mark. Ava Calma assisted on the play.
The Explorers took the lead with a goal in the 25th minute, and La Salle led 2-1 at halftime.
La Salle went on to score four times in the third in a span of eight minutes to put the game away.
SLU is back in action on Sunday afternoon when it welcomes Maryville to SportPort International. Game time is 1 p.m.
