Junior Owen Chaffin tossed 5.2 scoreless innings and led Saint Louis to a 16-9 win over Minnesota Sunday afternoon in Fort Myers Fla.
The Billikens completed the series sweep of the Gophers and moved to 3-3 on the season, while Minnesota dropped to 0-7.
Chaffin scattered just four hits, didn't walk a batter and struck out six.
Ethan Sitzman went 3-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Colin Bergmann and Easton Richter each tallied three RBIs.
Cole Smith put the Billikens on the board early with an RBI single in the opening frame
SLU added four runs in the fourth inning on two-RBI singles off the bats of Sitzman and Tyler Fogarty.
Following a two-run eighth inning, the Billikens exploded for nine runs in the final frame. SLU posted seven hits in the inning.
Minnesota answered with nine runs of its own in the ninth.
The Billikens will head to Carbondale, Ill., Tuesday for a matchup with Southern Illinois. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
