THE BASICS
Saint Louis split on day one of the Saint Louis Opening Round Robin, defeating Bradley 8-6 and falling 3-1 to Northern Illinois.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•SLU got on the board right away in the first inning on Abby Mallo's two-out RBI single.
•The Bills scored four times in the second. Chloe Rhine singled in the first run, followed by Natalie Sullivan's RBI double. Gabbie Kowalik drove in a run with a ground ball, and the final run of the inning scored on a throwing error.
•Bradley scored its first run in the fourth.
•Saint Louis plated three more runs in the fifth. Jocelyn Abbott delivered an RBI single, and two runners crossed the plate on an error.
•Bradley rallied for five runs in the seventh, all with nobody out. Kaili Hanner then came on to pitch and retired the next three batters, two on strikeouts, to record a save.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Abbott added a single for a two-hit game.
•Cami Newbanks collected a double and a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Northern Illinois scored all its runs in the fourth inning.
•The Billikens scored in the sixth on Kowalik's two-out double, her second two-bagger of the game.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Taylor Hochman tossed three innings of one-hit scoreless relief.
