THE BASICS
Saint Louis defeated Northern Illinois and fell to Bradley Sunday to conclude play in the Saint Louis Opening Round Robin.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Jane Kaniecki's third-inning, two-out RBI single gave SLU a 1-0 lead.
•Northern Illinois pulled even in the fifth, but the Billikens answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame. Kaniecki drove in the first with a groundout, and Kelsey Etling delivered a two-out, two-run single.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Chloe Wendling collected her fifth victory of the season by going the distance in the circle. Wendling struck out six and walked only one.
•Ashley Marietta and Jocelyn Abbott had a single apiece.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Both teams plated a first-inning run. The Billikens scored theirs on Kaniecki's RBI single.
•Bradley took a 2-1 lead in the fourth, but the Billikens tied it in the fifth on Gabbie Kowalik's RBI groundout.
•The Braves tallied twice in the sixth and held on for the win.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Natalie Sullivan collected two hits, while Abbott, Kowalik and Cami Newbanks each had a hit.

The Billikens host nationally ranked Kentucky in a single game Tuesday, March 14, at 4 p.m.
