THE BASICS
Ashley Marietta and Kelsey Etling homered for the first time this season, and Saint Louis erupted for eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning in a 12-3 (5 innings) Atlantic 10 Conference victory over St. Bonaventure Sunday at the Billiken Sports Center.
 
The Billikens completed a weekend sweep of the Bonnies and improved to 9-16 overall and 3-0 in the A-10.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis answered St. Bonaventure's first-inning run with one in the second on Marietta's RBI single.
•The Bonnies regained the lead with a run in the third, but the Billikens struck for three in their half of the frame. Abby Mallo drove in two with a single, and Etling scored on a passed ball for a 4-2 SLU advantage.
•St. Bonaventure cut the lead in half with a fourth-inning tally.
•Marietta's three-run home run started the Bills' fifth-inning scoring barrage. Gabbie Kowalik delivered a two-run double, and Saint Louis walked it off on Etling's three-run shot.
