Billikens Continue Rolling, Sweep Tommies for Seventh Straight Win

Four Billikens notched multi-hit games, SLU held St. Thomas scoreless for the final seven innings and Saint Louis earned a 5-2 victory over the Tommies Sunday afternoon at Billiken Sports Center.

SLU completed the weekend sweep of St. Thomas, winning its seventh straight game and improving to 7-3 on the season. The Tommies dipped to 1-8.

Cole Smith's RBI triple and Cameron Swanger's RBI single gave the Billikens an early 2-0 lead in the opening frame.

The Tommies answered with their only runs of the game in the next half inning with a pair of runners crossing the plate.

The Billikens scored single runs in each of the third, fourth and seventh innings.

Swanger finished 2-4 with two RBIs. Smith, Dominic Cusumano and Ethan Sitzman each also had two-hit contests.

Owen Chaffin picked up his second win of the season, tossing 5.0 innings and allowing just two runs on four hits.

Grant Fremion earned a save after throwing 4.0 scoreless innings.

The Billikens will travel to Lindenwood Tuesday evening for a midweek contest.
