Ethan Sitzman drove in five runs and led Saint Louis to its eighth straight victory Tuesday afternoon, a 14-9 win over Lindenwood at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
The Billikens improved to 8-3 on the season, while Lindenwood dropped to 2-11.
Sitzman finished the day 4-6 with five RBIs and was one of six Billikens to record a stolen base.
Patrick Clohisy also went 4-6 and had three runs scored and two RBIs, while Cole Smith collected two hits.
The Billikens opened the scoring early, pushing three runs across in the opening frame, including a Tyler Fogarty RBI double, and added two more tallies in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.
Lindenwood entered the scoring column in the third inning, scoring two on a two-out double.
Sitzman's second two-RBI single of the game came in the fourth inning to extend the SLU advantage to 7-2, but the Lions answered with two scores of their own in the bottom of the frame.
Austin Neuweg drove home Hayden Moore with a sacrifice fly in the sixth frame, moving the Billikens' lead to 8-4.
LU pulled within one with a three-run bottom of the seventh, but Saint Louis plated four runs in the eighth and two more in the ninth to regain a sizable edge.
The Lions didn't go down quietly in the ninth, scoring two runs and making it a 14-9 game.
The Billikens open an eight-game home stretch Friday against Northwestern. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. at Billiken Sports Center.
