Bills Bring Out The Brooms In 14-8 Win

Saint Louis – Saint Louis scored early and often and finished off the three-game sweep of Saint Joseph's with a 14-8 win today inside the Billiken Sports Center.
 
SLU (22-11, 8-1 A10) was led by Patrick Clohisy, Ethan Sitzman and Knox Preston who drove in three each, as Clohisy went 4-for-5 with a pair of runs scored. Hayden Moore and Austin Neuweg scored three runs, while Preston scored a pair. Cole Smith, Tyler Fogarty, Dominic Cusumano and Cam Redding scored a run each.

Jackson Holmes started and went six and two-thirds, striking out four to move to 2-0 on the season. Luke Gasser, Grant Fremion and Ben Cherico threw in relief.
 
Brett Callahan led the SJU (12-19, 4-5 A10) attack with three RBIs, a double and a run scored.
 
The Billikens jumped out to a 13-0 lead with four in the second, six in the third and three in the fifth.
 
Moore doubled home Fogarty and Smith to start the scoring in the second. Clohisy then doubled home Neuweg and Moore to make the score 4-0 after two.
 
Preston singled home Cusumano and Redding to make it 6-0 in the third, before Clohisy then singled home Preston, before Sitzman drove in Clohisy and Neuweg with a single to right center and give the Billikens a 10-0 lead going to the fourth.
 
Three more came in for SLU in the fifth when Preston singled home Moore and Sitzman added an RBI single, scoring Preston. Redding then made the score 13-0 with an RBI single scoring Clohisy.
 
The Eagles scored five in the seventh, two in the eighth and one in the ninth to get back in the game but didn't get any closer.
 
Saint Louis has now won ten of its last eleven games.
 
The Billikens will be back in action next weekend, traveling to Dayton for three-game series starting on Friday afternoon.
