Bills Split DH At Dayton

Saint Louis – Saint Louis split a double-header today at Dayton, falling 7-6 in extra innings in game one and winning 12-10 in the nightcap.
 
Game One –
 
Game one saw the Flyers (13-26, 6-5 A10) score a run in the eighth to tie the game and a run in the tenth to win. Dayton went on top 3-0 after two innings, but the Billikens (23-13, 9-2 A10) answered with five unanswered runs, leading 5-3 after five.
 
A sacrifice fly from Patrick Clohisy scored Hayden Moore, while a two-run double from Ethan Sitzman scored Austin Neuweg and Knox Preston to tie it up. Preston added a two-run homer to center in the fifth to put the Billikens up 5-3.
 
Dayton tied it with a pair of runs in the sixth before a home run from Dominic Cusumano in the seventh put Saint Louis up 6-5 heading to the eighth.
 
Sitzman went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs in the game, while Preston was 2-ofo-3 with two runs scored and two driven in. Smith went 3-for-4. Moore was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
 
Game Two –
 
The Billikens scored eight runs in the second inning of game two. Tyler Fogarty homered to left center to start the scoring, and Cusumano scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0. Clohisy singled home Preston before Cam Redding singled home Easton Richter. Cole Smith drove in Clohisy and Fogarty singled home Redding. Fogarty scored the inning's final run when he stole second and a two-base error allowed him to score.
 
The Flyers answered right back, scoring five in the second, two in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the game after five.
 
Redding put the Billikens back on top with a two-run homer to center in the sixth. Dayton added a run in the seventh to get within one, but the Billikens answered with a two-RBI single from Clohisy, scoring Cody Jansen and Moore in the ninth.
 
Redding went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while Clohisy, Fogarty and Sitzman had two hits each. Fogarty had two RBIs and a run scored, while Clohisy, Sitzman, Smith, Cusamano, Jansen and Richter scored a run each.
 
Ben Cherico picked up the win in relief to move to 3-1 on the season.
 
The two teams will finish up the series tomorrow with an 11 am first pitch.
