GAME DETAILS
•Caroline Kelly and Emily Gaebe scored goals for Saint Louis in the 21st-ranked Billikens' 3-2 loss to No. 13 BYU Thursday night at BYU's South Field. It was the 2023 season opener for both teams.
•BYU grabbed a 2-0 lead by scoring twice in the first 10 minutes. In the 14th minute, Kelly took advantage of a Cougar turnover and blasted a long-distance shot that slipped through goalkeeper Savanna Mason's gloves and into the net.
•The Cougars regained a two-goal advantage with a marker in the 43rd minute.
•Gaebe, who led all players with career highs of eight shots and seven shots on goal, gave the Billikens a chance with a goal in the 86th minute.
