Delaney Rice posted a .417 hitting percentage and
Carlie Rodgers tied for match-high honors with 13 digs in Saint Louis' 3-0 loss to Loyola Chicago Tuesday night at Chaifetz Pavilion.
Rice tallied 10 kills and no errors in 24 attempts.
Addy Brus collected a team-high 11 kills, and
Trinity Luckett and
Kayla Jansen recorded a match-high-tying three blocks apiece.
Loyola Chicago def. Saint Louis 25-19, 26-24, 25-19
Set 1 – Saint Louis jumped out to a 5-2 lead, but a 10-4 run gave Loyola a 12-9 advantage. The Billikens cut the lead to two points on three occasions before the Ramblers gradually pulled away.
Set 2 – SLU used a 7-2 spurt to go on top 11-7. Loyola chipped away, and the set was deadlocked at 14, 15 and 17 before the Bills scored three straight points for a 20-17 lead. Loyola registered five of the next seven points to knot the score at 22 apiece. A service error on a Ramblers set point tied it at 24, but the visitors secured the next two points for a 2-0 match lead.
Set 3 – Loyola went in front for good at 4-3 and, after building a 12-7 lead, kept the margin at three or more points the rest of the way.
The Billikens play at George Washington Friday and Saturday, Nov. 1-2.
