George Washington Tops Billikens in Five

WASHINGTONAddy Brus and Trinity Luckett posted match highs in kills and digs, respectively, in Saint Louis' 3-2 Atlantic 10 Conference loss at George Washington Friday night.
 
Brus had 19 kills and Luckett recorded six blocks, including four solo rejections. Luckett also turned in a .611 hitting percentage with 13 kills and just two errors in 18 attempts.
 
Carlie Rodgers tallied a team-high 13 digs and a match-high five service aces, while Vivian Kieffer added 10 digs and three service aces. Delaney Rice collected 10 kills.

Set 1 – After Saint Louis pulled out to a 6-1 lead, George Washington crept back into the set and tied it at 11 and 12. SLU responded with an 11-1 outburst for a 23-13 cushion on the way to an eight-point win.
 
Set 2 – Neither team led by more than three points until George Washington went in front 15-9 with a 4-0 spurt. It was 20-14 Revolutionaries when the Billikens assembled an 8-1 run to surge to a 22-21 lead. SLU had the first of four set points leading 24-22, and fought off a set point at 26-27, but GW evened the match.
 
Set 3 – George Washington went on top for good at 7-6 and built a 10-point cushion before settling for the final score.
 
Set 4 – The Billikens took a 9-8 lead and remained in front until the Revolutionaries pulled even at 18-18. Later, a 3-0 GW spurt gave the hosts a 23-22 advantage, but Saint Louis answered with three straight of its own to even the match.
 
Set 5 – Trailing 5-4, GW began to take command with a 4-0 run. SLU halted the rally with a point to trail 8-6, but GW scored seven of the last nine points.
 
The Billikens and Revolutionaries meet again Saturday at 1 p.m. Central.
