DEDHMAM, Mass. – Stonehill scored the lone goal of the game in the second quarter and held on for 1-0 victory over Saint Louis Sunday in non-conference field hockey action. The match was played in Dedham, Mass., on the home pitch of Northeastern University.
The Billikens dip to 1-8 overall, while Stonehill improves to 3-8.
Emma McGrory scored the game-winner at the 21:49 mark off an assist by Hannah Bickford.
The Billikens managed 10 shots, including five on goal, but were unable to get one past Stonehill goalie Shannon Conte.
Shaya Dry led the Bills with three shots. Abby Schalow made six saves for the Billikens.
SLU resumes Atlantic 10 Conference play on Friday, Oct. 11, when it hosts Davidson for Senior Day at the SLU Field Hockey Complex. Being honored prior to the 4 p.m. match are Josefina Perez, Savina Purewall, Julia Rooijakkers, Anna Smith and Olivia Smith.
