Palm Desert, Calif. — The Billikens fell to 3-5 after a hard-fought 65-104 loss to No. 6 USC on Friday night at Acrisure Arena. The game was much closer than the score indicates, but a big third quarter by USC put the game out of reach.

SLU had a strong second quarter, outscoring USC 22-18 to go into halftime down by five. USC responded with a 37-8 third quarter to put the game out of reach.
The Trojans had an advantage at the free-throw line, getting sent to the stripe 34 times compared to 12 for SLU. The Billikens shot 42 percent from the floor and 30 percent from beyond the arc.
