ST. LOUIS – The Billikens fell to 3-6 after Murray State used a strong second half to complete the comeback and defeat SLU 91-66 at Chaifetz Arena on Tuesday night.
The Racers started out hot with a 10-0 run, but the Bills came right back scoring 18 unanswered points. SLU held MSU without a basket for nearly seven minutes in the first quarter.
Saint Louis shot 42.9 percent from three and held Murray State to 18.2 percent with just two made three-pointers. The Racers flipped that around in the second half, shooting 66.7 percent from beyond the arc with 10 made threes.
The Billikens forced 23 turnovers, scoring 32 points off of them. Saint Louis had 14 steals, its most all season, led by
Kennedy Calhoun who tied the school record with nine steals.
Tierra Simon recorded her fifth career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Peyton Kennedy led SLU in scoring with 20 points, making it six games in double figures and her third with at least 20 this season.
Saint Louis travels to Washington D.C. to face Norfolk State in the Coaches vs. Racism Roundball Classic. Tip off is set for 10:30 a.m. central time.
