THE BASICS
Saint Louis registered a double-digit run total for a second consecutive day in a 17-1 victory over Detroit Mercy Saturday on day two of the WKU Hilltopper Classic. In the Billikens' first game of the day, Eastern Illinois posted an 8-0 win.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Eastern Illinois erupted for six runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Panthers added single runs in the second and fourth.
•Saint Louis was held without a hit until the fifth, when
Kelsey Etling smacked a single.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Isabel Royle was effective in relief, striking out three and allowing two runs (one earned), three hits and a walk in 3 2/3 innings.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens struck for six runs in the bottom of the first.
Cami Newbanks and
Abby Mallo clubbed three-run and two-run home runs, respectively, and
Abby Ulsas added an RBI double.
•Mallo's RBI single in the second made it 7-0.
•In an eight-run third,
Allie Marietta began the onslaught with a two-run single. Mallo collected two more RBIs with a double, a run scored on an error by the right fielder, Ulsas delivered an RBI single, and Newbanks closed the scoring with an RBI single.
•Saint Louis tacked on two runs in the fourth on
Sophia Boente's RBI single and
Ashley Marietta's sacrifice fly.
•Detroit Mercy plated an unearned run in the fifth.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Taylor Hochman notched her third win of the season. She fanned six and surrendered just four hits and a walk.
•Ulsas added two singles for a four-hit outing.
•
Allie Marietta added a single for a two-hit game.
•
Isabel Royle and
Lily Strand recorded a double apiece.
•
Natalie Sullivan,
Karsen Jany and
Chloe Rhine chipped in a single apiece.
