THE BASICS
Saint Louis got its bats humming against Massachusetts Saturday afternoon, compiling 19 runs and 28 hits en route to a 7-0, 12-1 Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader sweep of the Minutewomen at the Billiken Sports Center.

Cami Newbanks led the way, going 5-for-7 with six RBIs as SLU improved to 14-8 overall and 2-0 in the A-10.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The teams were locked in a scoreless tie until the Billikens struck for five runs in the fifth inning. Newbanks hit a three-run home run,
Jane Kaniecki had an RBI single, and a fifth run scored on a passed ball.
•Saint Louis added two insurance runs in the sixth as Newbanks clubbed her second homer of the game and sixth of the season, a two-run shot.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Taylor Hochman went the distance in the circle and improved to 9-3 with her third shutout of the season. Hochman struck out eight and gave just four hits and one walk.
•Kaniecki added a single for a two-hit game.
•
Abby Mallo doubled.
•
Abby Ulsas,
Natalie Sullivan,
Chloe Rhine,
Kelsey Etling,
Jocelyn Abbott and
Allie Marietta had a single apiece.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Kaniecki's first-inning sacrifice fly put SLU in front 1-0.
•The Billikens erupted for nine runs in the third, their highest-scoring inning of the season. Rhine plated the first tallies with a two-run double, Abbott and Marietta produced RBI singles,
Kendall Johnson rapped an RBI double, and Sullivan capped the rally with a grand slam, her second homer of the year.
•UMass scored its run in the fourth.
•The Bills recorded two more runs in their half of the fourth on RBI singles by Newbanks and Mallo.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Isabel Royle registered the complete-game victory, moving to 4-1 on the season. Royle fanned four and yielded five hits and one walk.
•Both Newbanks and Ulsas went 3-for-3.
•Kaniecki collected a double and a single.
•Sullivan and Mallo added a single apiece for two-hit games.
•
Karsen Jany picked up a single.
