THE BASICS
Abby Ulsas delivered a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh inning and Taylor Hochman tossed a five-hitter to lift Saint Louis to a 2-1 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over George Washington Saturday afternoon at GW Softball Field.
 
The Billikens took two of three in the series to improve to 18-12 overall and 6-3 in the A-10.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•GW scored its only run in the first inning.
•SLU tied it when Jocelyn Abbott smashed her first home run of the season leading off the third.
•In the seventh, Kelsey Etling singled with one out and Kendall Johnson drew a two-out walk, setting the stage for Ulsas' single that plated pinch-runner Karsen Jany.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman improved to 10-5. She worked out of several jams as George Washington stranded 10 runners; the Revolutionaries left two in the bottom of the seventh – including the tying run at third – three in the third and two in the fifth.
•Ulsas was 2-for-4
•Abby Mallo had a single.
