THE BASICS
Saint Louis scored six 2-out runs over the final three innings and held off Loyola Chicago 6-3 in game two of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Wednesday at Loyola Softball Park.

Loyola won the opener 6-3.

With the game-two victory, the Billikens (24-15, 12-5) pulled into a first-place tie with Saint Joseph's. The Hawks dropped both games of a doubleheader to Fordham on Wednesday.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Loyola took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning.
•Saint Louis answered immediately with two runs in the third as
Abby Ulsas (triple) and
Natalie Sullivan (single) delivered two-out RBI hits.
•The Ramblers plated five runs in the fifth to surge in front 6-2.
•
Jocelyn Abbott's seventh-inning RBI double accounted for the final score.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Isabel Royle pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
•
Kelsey Etling had a single.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Neither team could break through until the fifth inning, when SLU scored twice on Sullivan's two-out, two-run triple.
•The Bills struck again with two away in the sixth as
Abby Mallo clubbed her team-leading ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot that doubled the lead to 4-0.
•Loyola rallied for three runs in its half of the sixth.
•Saint Louis added two insurance runs in the seventh on
Jane Kaniecki's two-out double.
•The Ramblers loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh, but Royle induced a popup and a ground ball to preserve the win.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Ulsas was 3-for-3.
•Sullivan added a single for a two-hit game.
•
Kendall Johnson had a single.
•Royle struck out four and improved to 9-3.
