THE BASICS
Isabel Royle pitched a six-hitter and
Natalie Sullivan had two RBIs to lead Saint Louis to a 4-1 victory over George Mason in game two of an Atlantic 10 Conference doubleheader Saturday at GMU Softball Complex.

George Mason won the opener 5-4.

With seven conference games remaining, the Billikens (25-16, 13-6) are in second place in the A-10, trailing Dayton (12-5).

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•
Kelsey Etling led off the second inning with her eighth home run of the season.
•George Mason pulled even in the bottom of the inning with a solo homer of its own.
•The Patriots took a 4-1 lead by scoring three unearned runs in the fourth.
•The Billikens drew closer on
Cami Newbanks' sixth-inning RBI double.
•SLU began a game-tying rally with two outs in the seventh.
Jocelyn Abbott tripled and scored on
Kendall Johnson's RBI single. Following
Abby Ulsas' infield single, pinch-runner
Karsen Jany scored the tying run on Sullivan's RBI single.
•George Mason pushed the winning run across in its half of the seventh.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Starting pitcher
Taylor Hochman worked six innings, striking out five and allowing just one earned run and five hits.
•Sullivan added a single for a two-hit game.
•
Abby Mallo recorded a double.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens grabbed a 1-0 first-inning lead on
Jane Kaniecki's RBI single.
•It stayed that way until the sixth when Saint Louis plated three 2-out runs. Ulsas drove in the first with a single, and Sullivan followed with a two-run triple.
•George Mason tallied once in the seventh, but Royle worked out of a jam with the tying run at the plate.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Royle collected her 10th victory (10-4). She fanned four and walked only two.
•Kaniecki was 3-for-4, adding a triple and a single.
•Sullivan had two hits, adding a single to her three-bagger.
•Mallo doubled and singled.
•Newbanks registered two singles.
•Etling, Abbott and Johnson picked up a single apiece.
