ATHENS, Ohio – Josefina Perez scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season, but Saint Louis fell 5-1 Sunday at Ohio in non-conference field hockey action at Pruitt Field.
The Billikens fall to 0-4 on the season. Ohio improves to 3-3 with the victory in its home opener.
The Bobcats went on top early with a goal in the fourth minute, only to see SLU answer two minutes later when Perez converted a penalty stroke to even things at 1-1.
Perez, who has scored all five goals for the Billikens this year, has already matched her career scoring high just four games into the season. She is leading the A-10 in goals per game thus far.

Ohio scored twice early in the third quarter to take control, and it added another insurance goal in the fourth quarter for the final 5-1 margin.
Shots were even at 13 apiece. The Billikens generated nine penalty corners to six for Ohio. SLU goalie
Abby Schalow made six saves.
The Billikens are back in action next weekend with two matches at the SLU Field Hockey Complex. Richmond comes to town for the Atlantic 10 Conference opener on Friday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. on ESPN+. The Billikens then host Frostburg State on Sunday, Sept. 22, at noon.
