ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis was topped by Richmond 3-1 on Friday in the Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey opener at the SLU Field Hockey Complex.

The Billikens fall to 0-5 overall and 0-1 in the A-10. Richmond improves to 5-2 and 1-0 in the league.

All four goals came in the second quarter. Richmond got the scoring started with a goal in the 18th minute.

Moments later, the Billikens answered on a goal by
Shaya Dry.
Abby Vidas sent a long pass that eluded several Richmond defenders. Dry collected it and worked her way into the circle for her first goal of the season, making it 1-1.

But Richmond would score twice less than a minute apart late in the second quarter for the final 3-1 margin.

The Billikens are back in action Sunday when they host Frostburg State at noon at the SLU Field Hockey Complex.
