DAYTON, Ohio – Saint Louis dropped a three-set match to Dayton on Friday night at the Frericks Center. The Billikens fell to 8-9 overall and 0-6 in Atlantic 10 play.
SET 1: Dayton 25, SLU 10
Saint Louis traded points early before Dayton went on a long scoring run to pull ahead 15-7. The Billikens were led by early kills from
Tamia Maddox and
Ellie Rink, while
Tea Kalajdzic added one late in the frame.
SET 2: Dayton 25, SLU 18
The Billikens found more offensive rhythm in the second set. Maddox and Kalajdzic combined for several key kills, including back-to-back points to close the gap to 15-13 midway through. SLU kept the margin within reach before the Flyers closed on a late run to take a 2-0 lead.
SET 3: Dayton 25, SLU 15
Anna Alexander provided a spark off the bench with five kills in the final set to lead the Billikens.
Irmak Gokcen added three kills, and Maddox continued to contribute on both sides of the ball.
