PEARL, Miss. - Saint Louis won the first game of its doubleheader, 5-0, before falling 8-1 in the second game Saturday evening.
Game One
The Billikens jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, thanks to hits from Hayden Moore, Ethan Sitzman, Riley Iffrig, and a two-run homer from Brenden Stressler.
Iffrig added a solo home run in the sixth to extend the lead to 5-0.
Owen Kelley earned the win, tossing five innings, striking out nine batters and walking just one. Charlie Weber and Chase Minor combined for eight strikeouts in the final four innings.
Game Two
North Alabama plated five runs in the third inning, two in the seventh, and one in the eighth to secure an 8-1 win.
SLU's lone run came in the sixth on a homer from Chase Beattie.
The Billikens' pitching staff totaled 12 strikeouts in the game.
Back in Action
The Billikens will face North Alabama on Sunday at noon for the series finale.
