PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Billikens outscored Duquesne 26–15 in the fourth quarter but fell 84–72 on Saturday afternoon.
The Dukes found success from beyond the arc, shooting 50 percent and hitting eight three-pointers in the first half. They had three players in double figures at the break.
Kennedy Calhoun led Saint Louis in the first half with nine points, adding three assists, three rebounds, and a block. She finished with 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Peyton Kennedy scored 19 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, to help fuel the comeback that fell short.
Tierra Simon narrowly missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Billikens forced 22 turnovers, converting them into 20 points, and recorded 11 steals, including four by Hannah Wallace.
Saint Louis will return to action Wednesday, hosting Rhode Island for a rematch of its conference opener. The game is scheduled to air on ESPN+ with a 7 p.m. tip.
