THE BASICS
Scout Gallagher had four hits and four RBIs Friday to lead Saint Louis on day one of the Kennesaw State Tournament.
 
The Billikens fell 4-3 to St. John's in eight innings and 5-3 to East Tennessee State.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on Gallagher's RBI double.
•Abby Mallo's fourth-inning leadoff home run, her fourth round-tripper of the season, made it 2-0.
•St. John's scored two runs in the fifth.
•Two runs in the eighth gave the Red Storm a 4-2 lead.
•Jane Kaniecki's RBI single in the bottom of the eighth cut SLU's deficit in half, but the Billikens' rally was halted.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Gallagher added a single for a two-hit game.
•Starting pitcher Taylor Hochman worked five innings and struck out four while allowing just two hits and one earned run.
•Karsen Jany had a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•East Tennessee State scored four times in the top of the first.
•Saint Louis answered in the bottom of the inning as Gallagher clubbed her second homer of the season, a three-run shot.
•ETSU plated the game's final run in the second.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Gallagher also singled for her second consecutive two-hit game.
•Natalie Sullivan had two singles.
•Mallo and Kaniecki tallied a double and a single, respectively.
•Hochman recorded two innings of scoreless relief.
