THE BASICS
Saint Louis softball split on day two of the Bank of Hawaii Paradise Classic, rallying in the seventh inning to defeat Santa Clara 4-3 and falling 5-2 to host team Hawaii.

GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•The Billikens wasted no time, scoring twice in the top of the first inning. The first run scored when the Santa Clara catcher mishandled a throw from the outfield, and
Anna Christ's RBI single made it 2-0.
•Santa Clara scored all three of its runs in the third.
•In the Saint Louis seventh,
Natalie Sullivan tied the game with an RBI fielder's choice that scored
Karsen Jany, who started the rally with a one-out single.
Jane Kaniecki delivered a two-out RBI single to plate what proved to be the winning run.

GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•
Taylor Hochman, who relieved Christ in the third with two on and nobody out, recorded the win in the circle. Hochman allowed just three hits and three walks in five scoreless innings.
•Kaniecki added a single for a two-hit game, and Sullivan notched a single.

GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Hawaii scored all the runs it would need in a three-run bottom of the fourth inning.
•SLU answered right away in the fifth when
Abby Mallo smashed her first home run of the season, a two-run shot with two outs.
•Hawaii responded with a run in its half of the fifth and restored its original three-run advantage with another run in the sixth.

GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Sullivan collected two singles, and
Abby Ulsas had a single.
•
Isabel Royle struck out six.
