LOS ANGELES - Saint Louis held on for a 10-8 victory over Loyola Marymount in a back-and-forth game on Saturday evening.

The Billikens (5-5) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when
Ethan Sitzman hit a solo homerun. LMU answered in the second inning, tying the game at 1-1 with an RBI single.

Saint Louis regained control in the third, scoring three runs to take a 4-1 lead.
Riley Iffrig drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, and
Hank Gomric brough in two runs with a single to right field. LMU responded with two runs in the bottom of the third, cutting the lead to 4-3.

The game remained tight, with Saint Louis extending its lead to 6-3 in the sixth inning.
Chase Beattie hit an RBI double, and
Ian Halverson scored on a sacrifice fly. LMU came back with two runs of its own in the same inning, narrowing the deficit to 6-5.

The Billikens added another run in the seventh, pushing the lead to 7-5 thanks to an RBI single from
Max McGwire. In the ninth, Saint Louis extended its advantage with three more runs to lead 10-6 going into the bottom of the ninth. LMU managed two runs in the bottom of the ninth, but Saint Louis held on for the win.

Owen Kelly picked up his second win of the year from 5.0 innings of work and
Chase Minor earned the save. The Billikens pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts on the night.
