THE BASICS
Abby Mallo homered twice, Taylor Hochman tossed a complete game, and Saint Louis defeated Lindenwood 11-3 in six innings Wednesday at the Billiken Sports Center.
 
Mallo increased her season home run total to nine and her career total to 32, moving past Gabbie Kowalik into second place on SLU's all-time list. Sadie Wise holds the Billiken record of 37.
 
Hochman collected her team-leading sixth victory of the year.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Lindenwood scored its only runs in the top of the first inning on a three-run home run.
•Saint Louis answered right away in its half of the first. Karsen Jany and Abby Ulsas singled, and with one out, Mallo clubbed her first home run of the day.
•The Billikens scored what proved to be the winning run in the third. Jane Kaniecki walked with two outs and scored on a double by Chloe Rhine.
•Saint Louis broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning. Kaniecki's groundout brought home the first tally, Scout Gallagher delivered a two-run double, and Kendall Johnson smacked an RBI single.
•Ulsas started the sixth-inning game-clinching rally with a one-out bunt single and stole second. Natalie Sullivan singled, and Ulsas was ruled safe at home due to obstruction. Mallo's two-run blast brought the game to an end.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman scattered six hits and struck out four.
•Gallagher and Johnson added a single apiece to join Mallo and Ulsas with two-hit games.
•Allie Marietta recorded a single.
